We would like to inform you that we also installed the first Solar Tree in Africa, which is the combination of art and renewable energy, the solar tree has 36 branches and flower decorations, signifying peace and unity. It is...installed in area 11, opposite the Nigerian Television Authority Abuja, at Goodluck Support Group Office.
The first Solar Tree in Africa was installed to inform the people in Africa that renewable energy is the energy of the future. Moreover, people have been talking negatively about the failure of solar projects in Africa. For this, we had to install the solar tree to let them know that we can not only depend on fossil energy, and when Solar energy projects are perfectly carried out, they won't fail. The best bet is renewable energy.
The solar tree has 36 branches, signifying the each state of Nigeria. It also has flower decorations for peace and the unity of the country. The Solar Tree is automatically programmed to start from 6.30 pm to 6.30am in the morning depending on the sun's intensity daily.
We also used Led lights and battery banks. We wanted more current and then so had to make our connections in parallel.
We also took this technology home to educate and create job opportunities for people. Frequently we have been organising workshops to get people well informed about the need for renewable energy.
